We are excited to announce that the Journal of Medical and Surgical Errors (JMESE) is now accepting video submissions for our upcoming special issue, in collaboration with the World Society of Emergency Surgery (WSES) Congress 2024 committee.

Special Issue: “Black Video Award”

In partnership with the WSES Congress 2024 committee, we are introducing a special issue titled the “Black Video Award.” Among all submissions received, 5 selected videos will be presented at the WSES Congress by authors who are regularly registered attendees during the session “Surgical Education and the Value of Errors: The New Way of Learning.”.Submitted videos should showcase a difficult and complicated surgical procedure where an error/errors were made, managed, or avoided.

An expert evaluating committee will choose the 3 best videos and the winner! The podium videos will be highlighted on the JMESE website and YouTube channel. We look forward to receiving your submissions!

Submission Guidelines:

Videos must respond to the LAP-VEGas assessment tool and will be evaluated using the JAMA score.

We encourage all surgeons and medical professionals to submit their videos for consideration. This is a unique opportunity to showcase innovative approaches to surgical education and contribute to the advancement of surgical knowledge.
